Fall in DC

This week, we stocked up on supplies for our next year on the island,  and then took advantage of the wonderful fall weather! We met up with friends for dinner each night, went to museums and shopped 'till we dropped! I love DC more every time we go back! This was a wonderful time of year to visit.

Work is done! Time to play!

Is this accepted at vending machines?

Kylie's favorite / most terrifying exhibit!

 Beautiful butterflies!

 Oh no! They're attacking!

 Ok, they're friendly!

It wouldn't be DC if they weren't trying to construct a grassy lawn...
It's a swamp. Just give up!

Christmas Day

This morning, we got up bright and early to drive out to Grandma Cathy's house to OPEN PRESENTS! Luckily, Santa knew where we would be, so he filled our stockings and dropped off our presents there on Christmas Eve. Uncle Jake and Uncle Ben were there along with Grandpa Rich from our Brown/Oakley side of the family. It was a very Frozen Christmas, much to the delight of Kylie-zinha!

Winky-Blinky had to go potty before she headed back to the North Pole,
and she pooped out a candy cane!

 I'll never "let it go!"

 What is it?

Is that Kylie, or Queen Elsa?!?

 Playing her new piano!
*Thanks* Grandma!

In our three part Christmas Marathon, we spent the day after Christmas with Grandpa Ed, Grandma Lynn and the Kowitz's side of the family. We had so much fun that I forgot to take any pictures, except one!

Merry Christmas!

Hall Party

Today was Autumn's family's annual Christmas "Hall Party". It was so fun to see everyone and catch up. The buffet table included lutefisk & potatoes, at least ten kinds of meatballs, a few jello "salads", and what I estimated to be somewhere between eleven to fifteen gallons of mayonnaise used in the preparation of the buffet, in total! Kylie had a great time playing with all the kids, and Santa was even there!!

 Cousin play time!

 Budding chefs...

You want me to eat WHAT!?!

 Oh HI, Santa!

So many cousins!

How long is this gonna take?
You NEVER gonna get 30 kids to all look at the same camera!

This is my sad time of day! lol

Oh well!
Time to eat!

Relaxing like an old married couple! Ha!

Fun with Kylie

Warning! Excessive cuteness! Proceed with CAUTION!!!

SO, Kylie is growing and changing each day, and basically one-upping her own cuteness factor at each turn. Here are some ridiculously cute happenings around Casa Oakley these days! Also, we dug through the "clothes that don't fit yet" bin, and found some real treasures!

Waterspout? Very specific downpour? Eyeore, or somebody with their own personal black raincloud?
You be the judge!

Out of ideas for the baby?
Put her in a reusable shopping bag / swing / baby elevator / peekaboo fort!
Our housekeeper was laughing her a$# off with this one!

 Fun with the peeker!

 Kaleidoscopic!

This is one of K's current favorite toys!

Cropped baby top and Daisy Duke shorts! Classic!

Oh yeah! We had a power outage, and thus a romantic candelit dinner!

 Wowee-zowee!

 Send in the clowns!

I really wanted to win this boat for Brazilian Father's Day! haha!
This one's for you O'Winstons!

Crocs are baby tooth indestructible!
