Visit with Ed & Lynn

Second stop on the Colville tour was with Ed & Lynn. After touring their new house in progress, we hiked up the mountain before dinner. Thursday we headed over to the new house to paint before returning home for a tamale party!
The horses wanted to come on the hike too, but the dogs said no!

Visit with Cathy & Rich

First stop on the Colville tour was at my mom's house for two days. Autumn headed over to visit with her dad while he worked on his new house, while my mom and I took the boat out for a mid-afternoon sail. We even trailered the boat and got the engine going all by ourselves (but Rich had to come pick up up to put the boat back!!). We spent the evening and the next morning just talking and visiting. Next day we ran into Colville to renew our drivers licenses, car tabs, and open a safe deposit box. We got to go into the bank vault...just like in the movies!

4th of July

For the 4th, we drove over to Chelan to spend the weekend with Paul & Linda! We had a big barbeque with everyone from the condos and then watched the fireworks that night. On Monday, we trolled around the lake for trout, and Linda even caught one!!

Foggy and misty on the pass...

Happy birthday America!

Seattle Visit

We arrived in Seattle Thursday and were greeted with margaritas at Jeannie's. We went out to dinner with the girls from my old office and then stayed up way too late! Next day we ran around town and checked in with the crew from Autumn's old office. Saturday morning, we headed out to Whidbey to visit Leah, Jim and Noelle. Noelle and Jim went crabbing that morning, so our dungeness crabs were walking around on the bottom of Puget Sound in the morning and on our plates by noon. We wound up the night with a big group of my aunts, uncles and Stephanie at Tulalip Casino....the number one place for fun!

Ferry out to Whidbey.

Library of Congress

Today we visited the Library of Congress to take a look at Autumn's grandma's genealogy book about their family history. We got our library cards, walked about 10 miles through underground tunnels, passed by the Mason workshop, and arrived at the books! (Which are not readily available at the LOC!!) It was super-fun and we got a little taste of home!

Niagara Falls

Our one day trip to Niagara was really fun. It was so relaxing to just walk, drink and gamble in the exotic land of Canada!

Camping in Pennsylvania

This Friday, we braved the Washington DC rush hour traffic to start on the long trek to Niagara Falls. We camped overnight in Shawnee State Park, Mann's Choice, Pennsylvania.
