Réveillon - New Year's Eve

We rang in the new year loudly, at home, with a big fireworks show right outside our patio! We even woke Kylie up to go out to her second New Year's Eve party at a friends house. She didn't make it to midnight, but we all had a great evening. We can't wait to see what 2014 has in store for us!!

To heck with safety, we gotta have hot sparks and ash landing on the people on the beach!

Walking home from the party through the REVEILLON GATEWAY!

 BOOM!

Ringing in the New Year with watching USA swimsuits...YES!
...I guess we're REAL parents now!
At least we're ready to embarrass Kylie in 2024!

I'm dreaming of a HOT Christmas...

Merry Christmas! Ho! Ho! HOT!

It is the official "beginning" of summer here, which means that it is still 85° and 100% humidity, just like every other day of the year! But since it's Christmas and its all cold and snowy on TV and Facebook, you really notice it. Also, our Christmas decorations just don't seem quite right with palm trees and the beach right out the window. Oh well...

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good tan!

 Why is the tree white?

The theme for Autumn's office holiday party was 80's!
We look so rad, dude!

Now that's commitment!
It's the same haircut that I had in 1987!

We also hosted a Christmas Eve dinner for everyone who couldn't get home this year!
There was a ton of food, friends and fun, but very few pictures. I made a Mexican Turkey, a Hawaiian Ham, NW Cedar Planked Salmon and Israeli Roasted Veggies! All foods from our favorite places!

We did manage to capture the most important things...

...the bar...

 ...appetizers...

 ...and a party dress!

Christmas Day Round 2 Recipe:  Salmon Cakes  - YUM!

Did somebody say PRESENTS?!?

 It's a book!

 What could this be?

 Kitty shoes!

 *heart*

RUN AWAY!!!

See you in 2014!

December Round-Up

Summer is in full swing here and that means that Kylie and I are getting out of the house as much as possible to beat the heat! Here's what we've been up to:

Oh, Autumn went to Rio de Janeiro for a 3 day business trip and took one picture...
...of her room service sushi for one.

 Snowball Cupcakes!
(for the office)

 ...and for us.

Yes darling, can you point me to the fine jewelry department?

 Ready to romp!

 There's holes to be dug...
...and I'm just the lady to dig 'em.

Oh hi dad! You thought you could look at Facebook on your phone for 30 seconds? I only needed 5 to learn how to climb up here and stand!

 Where's Kylie?

 There she is!

Our budding artist!

I love that the package says that these are "artisanal" American waffles!
By the way, aren't these Belgian waffles?

And yes, that is an ice cream sundae served on top,
just the way that we eat waffles in America every morning for breakfast!

Ok, I might need a reality check, because I'm starting to think that
this looks like a totally legit Lebanese restaurant! Thoughts?

This classy boutique is called "d'fuck", as in "What d'fuck?"
Although with local pronunciation, I think that phonetically, it would be dee-foo-kee
I'm entering this in the t-shirt contest!

 Aaaahhh!

 Time for a coconut break!

Later!

Visit to Santa's Workshop (of Horror)

Today, Kylie and I went to see Santa with our friends from upstairs. As is our holiday tradition, we went to the mall as soon as it opened, WAY before Christmas to avoid lines, crowds and jaded, over-worked elves. Kylie was a willing participant until it came time to actually take a picture with Santa. As many Facebook comments have supposed, this Santa was definitely NOT to be trusted, totally scary, and possibly *gasp* A CLOWN in the Santa-off season! Needless to say, Kylie screamed in holy terror throughout the photo shoot!

Merry Christmas (of DOOM!)

Ok, let's look at decorations and calm down.

 Let's try again...
...K isn't fooled!

Hey! It's Rudolf's reindeer friends Berenice and Nicolino...
...wait a minute, that's not in the song!

Later that day in the jungle...

*kiss*
