Curry Party

We had a little dinner party tonight and served Margaret's Curry. It was crazy and delicious as usual.

I won't reveal her secret recipe, but the toppings include:  pickles, raisins, bacon, peanuts, hard boiled eggs, coconut, mango chutney and bananas!

Vamos para São Luís, Maranhão!

This week I traveled to São Luís, Maranhão for work.  The city is located on Brazil's northeastern coast.  I enjoyed my trip very much.  We got a lot of work done, and saw a lot of this beautiful and historic Brazilian city.

Time to represent!

That is a lot of meat.  Like, way a lot.  It sure was good, though.

Good morning!

São Luís is famous for its beautiful Portuguese tile on the outside of the buildings.  It makes the city bright and colorful!

Downtown São Luís.

Cheese!

A delicious caipirinha after a hard day's work!

Enjoying sunset at the beach.

Beautiful, wild beach.

Enjoying a Jesus soda, a soda found only in Maranhão.  It was very sweet.

September Fun

In between birthday parties and starting to plan our upcoming move, we've been hanging out at the beach, staying in on our (hopefully) last few days of the rainy season, and getting crafty!

YEE-HAW! Ride 'em cowgirl!

 Mama and baby!

 Contemplating the big move!

Night time relaxing with Star Trek or The Big Bang Theory!

Kylie wanted us to wear matching hats to the beach, but THEN we'd just look silly! haha!

Party Time!

Today was Kylie's big day...birthday party day!  She had eight little friends over to help her celebrate.  In the end, our house was covered in a thin layer of chips and frosting, but it was well worth it.  Kylie had a fabulous party, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with her!

Kylie's birthday cake, chocolate cupcakes with mango buttercream, made specially by Kylie's super talented daddy.

The decorations are ready!

Funny hats?  Check!

Balloons in my princes castle?  For me??  (Only about five of the balloons flew out the window, so that's good lol.)

Eric made this amazing balloon animal palm tree.

And he made this popular raspberry punch with pretty frozen ice balls.  He could be a pintrest star, seriously.

Nine children in your house under the age of 5?  Everyone needs a margarita.  The good stuff, made with Herradura.

Snacks in place.

Best friends wearing silly hats together.

Here's to two years of successful parenting.  Baby''s happy, healthy, and alive.  Good work.

The animal masks were especially popular amongst party-goers.

"Mama, I a cow!!"

 Love with mama.

Recife's happiest birthday girl.

The man who made all this possible, Kylie and her superstar daddy.

Kylie Turns 2!

Today was Kylie's big day!  A whole two years old.  Two brings many changes for Kylie.  Soon she gets to take vitamins, turn her car seat around, sleep in a big girl bed, drink out of real cups...so many changes!  For today, though, we get to enjoy cake and presents.  Looking forward to Kylie's birthday party this Saturday!

Happy birthday Kylie!!

Present time!

Loving her new quilt.

Birthday Quilt

For Kylie's upcoming 2nd birthday, I finally made a new playmat / quilt for her play pen from the fabric that we got in Virgina over a year ago.

It's got a farm, a castle, houses, a lake and an airport!

Tailored for all her Little People toys!

Fun with Aya & Ariel

Kylie and Aya have been hanging out quite a bit this week, with some very cute results!

 Playing house

 Painting day

 So messy and fun!

Oh, and Kylie made this lunch for Ariel the other day.
Mmmm... a hamburger patty topped with a hot dog.
I guess Ariel is on a gluten-free diet!
