Maine Part III

Enough said! Maine-tastic!
Could this place be cuter?
Last view of Maine before we headed back to Boston.

We met up with Mitch and Malika in Boston for lunch and catching up. Overall, we had a great time in New England!

Maine Part II: Peaks Island

After lunch, we took the ferry from Portland over to Peaks Island to enjoy the rugged Maine coastline. We walked around the island then headed back to town for more fantastic seafood. Lobster is awesome.
Walk on ferries! Why doesn't every city have these?
Eric+beer=happy
Rock beaches!
Autumn+salty air=happy
Tide pools too! Could this place get better? And/Or more like Washington?
Only snails in the tidepools. No starfish or crabs or anything.
So much fun in Maine!

Maine

Checked off state number two for the day! Welcome to Maine....Vacationland.

Whoopie Pie! So called, because the Amish supposedly exclaim "Whoopie!" when they get one in their lunch pail.
We did not try this "delicacy"!

New Hampshire

Today we checked New Hampshire off our list of states to visit! It was chock full of tax-free liquor/lottery stores. Awesome!
Prepare to "Live free or die"!!!!!! (next right)

National Harbor & Peeps!

After the botanical garden, we drove down to National Harbor to check out the new Peeps store. Yes, Peeps, the world's worst Easter candy has its very own store in Maryland, so we had to see it for ourselves. There was Peep-art, Peep-clothes, Peep-hedges, really just about Peep-anything. Basically pure Peep-insanity!

Although, I do have to admit that I liked the chocolate-covered Peeps that we found there!

US National Botanical Garden

This weekend we visited the US National Botanical Garden. The weather was beautiful, and the flowers were in full bloom. First stop, Asian Gardens:

 Entrance to the garden.
Tiny trees that look like giant trees! GENIUS!
What will the Japanese think of next?
So sunny and nice!
Tulips! Like home!
The azaleas were spectacular.
And of course...Autumn found a cactus!
