So, it's finally time to go to Greece! We closed out the fiscal year at work yesterday, got all packed, left the work Blackberry behind and headed out for our big trip. We departed Mexico City at 2:30 pm Central time for our 11 hour non-stop flight to Paris. That was a long flight, and somehow the nighttime disappeared along the way. I, of course, was seated behind the world's most enormous guy who had his seat back the entire time, and every time he moved he threw his whole body weight into it, almost crushing my computer twice! Anyway, we finally arrived in Paris at 8:30 am local time on October 2. I still don't really know how to refer to yesterday. Somehow October 1 became October 2 in some unnatural way.
We needed some kind of proof we were in France. That Paris airport is not fun to navigate, and it is crazy hot. Just saying.
After sitting on the tarmac for an hour waiting for a supposed air traffic controller strike, which we later found out was actually a bank robbery at the Athens Airport, we were finally off! We really liked Air France...they even sent us an apology email for the delay!
The French countryside...looks a lot like the US from the air.
Hello islands of Europe!
Finally, after an unknown amount of hours of travel, we made it to Athens. So excited to be here, we can hardly stand ourselves!!
