Two of our high school friends came down to visit this week for Spring Break! We love having visitors since it actually makes us go out and explore the area. First stop on our itinerary: Itamaracá to visit the manatee preserve (better known as the Instituto Chico Mendes de Concervaçâo da Biodiversidade - Centro Nacional de Concervaçâo e Manejo de Sirêneos ou Peixe-Boi) and Fort Orange. The drive was a little harrowing, as usual, but we made it there and back in one piece!
